No, Welwitschia Hospital is not advertising multiple vacancies

A viral recruitment post falsely promotes vacancies that the hospital has denied online it has been advertising.

A post claiming that Welwitschia Hospital, at Walvis Bay, is recruiting for several medical and administrative positions is circulating widely on Facebook and WhatsApp since April 2026.

The post lists vacancies for receptionists, debtors clerks, radiographers and sonographers, with an application deadline of “20 May 2026”  and encourages applicants to submit CVs and certified qualifications by email, although an email address is not provided on the post. (Post below)

A post that has been circulating on social media falsely promotes vacancies at Walvis Bay’s Welwitchia Hospital.

What we found

Namibia Fact Check has established that the recruitment post is fake. Welwitschia Hospital itself publicly debunked the post in a Facebook post published on 12 May, warning the public that the circulating vacancies were fake.

The hospital post states:

“IMPORTANT NOTICE: FAKE JOB POST ALERT!
It has come to our attention that a post regarding vacancies at Welwitschia Hospital is currently circulating with fake details.
Please be advised that this post is not an official communication from us. We urge our community to exercise caution and avoid sharing personal information or documents with unverified sources. All official Welwitschia Hospital vacancies are posted exclusively on our official website.”

Namibia Fact Check also observed several red flags in the viral post, including vague application instructions and formatting inconsistencies commonly associated with online recruitment scams.

Scammers frequently use the names of trusted Namibian entities to lure job seekers into sharing personal information, data or documents. This post bears the signs of being a phishing scam.

Our verdict

The Welwitschia Hospital recruitment post that has been circulating virally in social media spaces is fake. The hospital has publicly confirmed that the circulating recruitment advert is not official and has warned the public against sharing personal information with unverified sources.

Job seekers are advised to verify vacancies directly through official company websites and verified communication channels before submitting any information or documents via social media promoted and advertised posts or links.
